7 Questions Bay Kitchen Bar’s Co-Owner Adam Miller
If you’ve been to Bay Kitchen Bar in East Hampton, there’s no forgetting the gorgeous sunsets and picturesque views overlooking the marina at Three Mile Harbor. Offering diners New York City-esque cocktails (true mixology style) by seasoned bartender and new Beverage Director Maura McGuigan paired with the freshest sea-to-table cuisine by co-owner and Executive Chef Eric Miller, the restaurant offers the best of both worlds from a relaxing dinner with friends to a fun cocktail experience with oysters at the bar. In his current position as Partner and General Manager, son Adam Miller steps into his role by bringing a fun side to the classic Hamptons’ neighborhood restaurant. Bringing in an innovative cocktail program to start with McGuigan and spearheading specialty nights with a themed Latin night, $1 oyster happy hour with rosé, and adding a youthful team to the mix, we decided to tap into young Miller’s experience in the area. Check out our 7 questions with Adam Miller to see how experience the Hamptons’ like a local.
1. Where to have a great date night:
On my days off, I would still take a date to Bay Kitchen Bar. It’s a very impressive date spot since we have the best views over the Three Mile Harbor since it’s extremely romantic. I would also take a date to East Hampton Grill- they have the best French dip! The Beacon in Sag Harbor is definitely a great date spot as well.
2. Best kept insider secret:
The Clam Bar has the best clam strips in the Hamptons. Hands down.
3. What to wear to fit in with the East Hampton crowd:
Since the Hamptons has a beach-y vibe, you can get away with wearing brighter colors and a different look that doesn’t feel as city-like. Instead of boat shoes and khakis, it is very fashionable to find a good pair of Derbys and a well-tailored suit.
4. Best beach spot:
Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett is really beautiful and they have a beach volleyball court, which is a lot of fun.
5. Favorite neighborhood spot:
The Blue Parrot is definitely a local go-to spot that’s laid back with great Mexican food and margaritas. Since the vibe is casual, you can hang out at the restaurant and then explore the town.
6. Celebrity favorite spot:
Nick and Toni’s and 75 Main are definitely the town’s celebrity hotspots.
7. Where to go for a legendary and memorable night out:
Bay Kitchen Bar will allow you to experience a serious beverage program with some of the most unique cocktails in the Hamptons while overlooking the water –then take a cab to your next destination! Also, make sure you’re with the right people—the company you keep matters since they’ll be your Hamptons crew for the weekend.
