The Casbah Series Kicked Off Monday with Qui Tequila and Quest Love
Hello Cinco de Derby partiers. We’re still recovering from Monday night’s festivities, which started at The Casbah Series.. and ended there! Yup, we never left. It was such a great event from the forest-themed decor inside Casa La Femme in the West Village to the overflowing spring cocktails by Qui Tequila. The night started with a warm welcome by UrbanDaddy’s team who handed each guest a flower crown to get people in the mood for a inside garden party. No inside voices needed. DJ Vikas kicked off the night playing a variety of tunes from old school hip hop to current tracks, followed by Questlove, who I love! I just adore his afro and nerd glasses. We made our way around the room, which was completely transformed into a garden soiree with belly dancers, henna tattoo artists, girls on swing sets with vines wrapping their bodies and even Qui Tequila popsicles and hookah.. Egyptian food.. so many activities to mention!
After imbibing and dancing with friends, we made our way to the back with Blogger Danielle Bernstein– if you’re not familiar with her, check out her blog We Wore What focused on her unique style and fashionable trends. She’s definitely the trend setter not follower. We also noticed notable filmmaker Paul Haggis (actually someone had to point him out), but I was equally impressed when I found out he was the producer and screenwriter for consecutive Best Picture winners, 2004′s Million Dollar Baby and 2005′s Crash, the latter of which he also directed. Whoa.
As the night twiddled down, so did my energy level. Oh, is this just monday? Oh no.
