The Gander Offers Diners A Spirited Evening Each Month
You may know executive chef/owner Jesse Schenker for his buzzed about restaurants The Gander and Recette in NYC …or perhaps his many accolades as a James Beard Rising Star semifinalist or for being included in Zagat’s “30 Hottest Chefs Under 30,” Forbes’s “30 Under 30,” or maybe that time he beat Chef Geoffrey Zakarian in an Iron Chef America battle! .. Oh, you might also know him for his new Spirit Night at The Gander. That’s probably not it..but maybe a new reason to get to know the fun experimental pairings and food chef Schenker brings to his restaurants and diners.
This special evening aims to introduce under-the-radar spirits and experimental dishes allowing guests to discover the range of spirits with last month’s featured spirit by El Dorado Rum , which featured a one-night only tasting menu with dishes ranging from Cured Kingfish with cucumber and jerk spice, Mushroom Ravioli with duck confit to chicharones and parsnip and more! Check out this upcoming Monday’s festivities and join chef Schenker as he introduces diners to Del Maguey Mezcal.
On Monday, October 26th at 7:30pm, Spirit Night will feature Del Maguey Mezcal and guests will learn about the spirit as well as enjoy cocktails paired with Schenker’s one-night-only tasting menu. Menu highlights include, but are not limited to: Oxtail Agnolotti with smoked scallop, shell beans and salsa verde emulsion; Sous Vide Duck & Squid ‘fried rice’ with scallion vinaigrette; and Mescaline Cloud with lime curd and salted vanilla sable.
Tickets are available to the public to purchase for $100 here.
