Everyone always raves about the bold flavors and spices in a traditional Indian meal! I’ve had a couple experiences at places like Babu Ji and Kati Roll Company’s satisfying Indian Burritos, but have yet to experience an authentic sit-down home cooked Indian meal. That was my experience at Upper East Side restaurant Papadam. The owners Ajay and Kalpana Jagg were so nice– and very welcoming as if we were enjoying dinner in their home.
The menu features dishes from all over India (the owners are from New Delhi) and showcases flavors with fresh herbs ground by hand and rich flavors. The atmosphere was very relaxed and can be enjoyed as a casual or a date night– not to mention their 14-course rotating lunch buffet.
The dishes we enjoyed;
Trio of Kebabs
Chef’s special – malai kebab, haryali, and gharwali kebabs.
India’s classic tandoori chicken marinated in yogurt, fresh lemon juice and garam masala, grilled in a clay oven.
