Put a fork in it because National Pasta Month is almost done! To wrap-up one of the most glorious food holidays of the year, we narrowed a couple places to enjoy the last week of carb-filled bliss.
Molto Bene! It’s a pasta party! That’s right, tonight is the Pasta Piazza Party to help celebrate National Pasta Month at Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina (75 9th Ave inside Chelsea Market; 212.370.0975; www.rananyc.com). With so many outstanding Italian restaurants in New York, it’s hard to choose just one to end the carb-loaded holiday. Luckily, Giovanni Rana the “patriarch of pasta” (known for his handmade fresh pasta in Verona and a household name across Italy and throughout Europe) will be in NYC tonight to celebrate National Pasta Month and will gather some of his friends aka some of the greatest culinary minds across the U.S. to feed you pasta with a dine-around event from 7:30- 9:30p. Highlighting each visiting chef’s signature take on pasta, the Pasta Piazza Party will be a fun way to end National Pasta Month and to showcase the universal language of pasta.
Joining Mr. Giovanni Rana are seven legendary culinary icons from across the U.S. to pay homage to their love of pasta, including Rana’s own Executive Chef Kevin Garcia; Mark Ladner of NYC’s Del Posto; Jody Adams of Boston’s Rialto & TRADE; Matt Accarrino of San Francisco’s SPQR; Michael Scelfo of Boston’s Alden & Harlow; Jenn Louis of Portland, Oregon’s Lincoln and Sunshine Tavern; Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier of Boston’s M.C. Spiedo. Guests can mix and mingle with the fantastic lineup of chefs and taste their ultimate pasta dish made before their eyes at each station. Tickets: $55 (includes one house beer, wine or specialty cocktail) tonight from 7:30-9:30p and can be purchased here.Benefitting the Food Bank for New York City.
