New Neighborhood Hotspot Offers A Lively Bar Scene To The Upper West Side
On Tuesday, May 19, Joe’s Bar opened its doors for its grand opening. Within the first twenty minutes, the bar was packed with locals and tastemakers! Set in the up-and-coming Upper West Side neighborhood on Amsterdam Ave, this new bar promises to bring another level to the craft cocktail revolution.
Waitresses wandered the small, but effective space, handing out signature drinks, including the Flash Gordon’s Breakfast – Tequila, Cucumber, Thai Chili, Dolin Blanc, Mint, and Scooby Snack- a “perfect for summer” concoction of frozen pina colada and a splash of cola. Also flowing were other signature drinks including the delicious Disco Revival, using absinthe as a base.

But this place has more than just drinks to brag about. Bites of owner Anthony Serignese’s incredible burgers were being scooped up as quickly as they came out. Also offered were veggie burgers (equally delicious), for those who are averse to meat, and some of the best fries I have eaten in a while. Among attendees was Lo Bosworth, friends in tow. She was seen sitting in a corner booth of the 70’s-themed resto, digging into the aforementioned Burger with obvious satisfaction. And it’s that kind of satisfaction that will continue to bring customers to Joe’s for years to come. Cocktail and burger aficionados take note; this bar is here to set roots and you can expect it to stay awhile.
