Founder, blogger and photographer extraordinaire Scott Schuman of T H E S A R T O R I A L I S T helped celebrate the latest line of luxury washroom products and shaving kits by The Art of Shaving by showcasing his own art with 8 portraits of well-groomed gentleman posing in the streets of Chelsea, New York. The Sartorialist is world renowned for capturing street style and by targeting only the Chelsea area, he was able to bring to life the inspiration behind the new shaving tools called The Chelsea Collection at TheDanziger Gallery. With his previous work being featured in GQ, Vogue Italia, and national Ad campaigns for The Gap and Burberry, as well as his work residing at permanent collections in the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Sartorialist clearly knows a great product when he sees it.
“I wanted to capture the inner spirits of my subjects, not only their grooming sense as the collaboration between The Art of Shaving and I is more than that. The inspiration was more to understand why men style their facial hair in a certain way, how it makes them feel and how that translates into their everyday life. With the Chelsea Collection being inspired by Chelsea, New York, this enabled me to capture these strong, individual portraits in a neighborhood that is timeless.”
The Chelsea Collection launched just in time for the holidays and to wrap up Movember (finally)! Gentleman can look their absolute best when they visit friends and family with the new Chelsea Razor that has a matte black finish with fluted metal gripping topped with polished nickel-plated detailing– so fancy. Reminds me of the old-world way and style of shaving like in Sweeney Todd, but without Johnny Depp (unfortunately). Aside from the cool look, Chelsea will be the first city to be launched in the new Heritage Collection available at The Art of Shaving, which will be followed by other collections to pay homage to the trendsetting streets of Manhattan. Gentlemen looking for a nice shave can purchase the product at The Art of Shaving boutiques or online.
