We miss the 90s. Friends, Seinfeld, the X-files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 3rd Rock from the Sun… actual good TV. We miss neon being a legit color, hot-pants, perms, Savage Garden… oh how we miss Savage Garden. We miss Winona & Johnny forever. Actually we just miss Johnny Depp under the age of 40. We miss movies like Clueless, She’s all That, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Craft. Speaking of The Craft, we miss witches. Like seriously, legit witches. Not the shit you see on TV now-a-days. We miss bad-ass, ass-kicking, spell binding, fuck you up witches. We don’t miss vampires. Although we wouldn’t argue a remake of Interview With The Vampire. Wink, Brad Pitt, wink. We miss Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston. We miss walking into a hair salon and asking for “The Jennifer.”
We miss coffee shops. Where are all the coffee shops? Starbucks killed the coffee shop. Don’t get us wrong, we looove Starbucks. We’re just sayin’ it would be nice to walk into a 90s coffee shop where Savage Garden, Truly Madly Deeply is playing, or Dave Matthews, Satellite, or anything Alanis Morissette. Instead we have Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber. Phump. Justin Bieber is no Justin Timberlake. We miss our JTT posters, we miss Leonardo DiCaprio circa Titanic. Basically anything and everything that screams 90s we miss it.
And lucky for us the 90s have been slowly making a comeback since 2008, and in 2013 I think it’s safe to say they’ve landed. Neon shirts are all the rage, the shorter the shorts the better, the puffier the hair, the whiter the skin, the redder the lips… everything is just screaming 1994. And we l.o.v.e. it. We’ve pulled some images from the internets to validate our point. And since the internets don’t lie, we figure it’s safe to pull those Doc Martins out of the back of your closet. We just might visit our parents’ garage tonight, aka, the 90s storage closet, and pull out our Tiger Beat to refresh our mind on those killer 90s fashions.
To quote our favorite movie: “That was way harsh, Tai.”
