Let’s Get Crackin’ ! Dassara Ramen & AquaBoil PopUp
An exciting summer collaboration that will be “popping up” beginning next Wednesday, May 27th (through Labor Day). Dassara Brooklyn Ramen in Carroll Gardens will be joining forces with NYC seafood purveyor, Aqua Best to bring the Dassara Ramen & AquaBoil PopUp. Think: Asian-style seafood boil!!
From May 27th through Labor Day, Dassara Brooklyn Ramen (August 2012) owners, Justin DeSpirito and Lana Yang, will launch the Dassara Ramen & AquaBoil PopUp, an exciting summertime collaboration “popping up” with New York City seafood purveyor, Aqua Best. Inspired by back-to-back culinary research trips to New Orleans, Louisiana and Yokohama, Japan, the new AquaBoil section from Chef Pablo Ventura’s menu will focus on Japanese/Creole-inspired seafood boil dishes and inventive sides that use top-quality live seafood brought in daily. The shellfish selection, which will rotate depending on availability, will be prepared with Korean/Japanese pepper, yuzu citrus, hondashi, ground ginger and Japanese seaweed and will be served with flavorful sauces like Dassara’s famous Old Tokyo Bay Rub with garlic and butter, or Black Pepper and Sake. Tables within the 55-seat space will be outfitted with paper tablecloths, and guests will be given latex gloves upon dining, bringing to life the seafood boil tradition. Now, let’s get crackin’!!
