With many bars offering fun Halloween cocktail specials and concoctions, the scary-good new cocktails will be more of a treat than a trick to those looking to get a little boozy this Friday. You can start by heading to Saxon + Parole’s where their award-winning bar team, overseen by Eben Freeman will be serving up a specialty cocktail this Halloween: Zombie. The Zombie is a twist on a classic tiki cocktail combining Brugal extra dry rum, Wray & Nephew overproof rum, house made pumpkin seed cordial, red beet grenadine and lime juice and is available on Halloween night for $12.

1 oz. Brugal Extra dry rum
1 oz. Wray & Nephew overproof rum
3/4 oz. house made pumpkin seed cordial
3/4 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. red beets grenadine
Shake and strain all ingredients except for grenadine into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Gently drizzle beet grenadine on top.
After having the Zombie, head next door to Madam Geneva for their All Hallows Eve party featuring mad scientist bartenders (ready to mix you a drink or two), haunting beats from DJ Devon, and a Spiced Pumpkin Punch complete with dry ice made with Beefeater 24, Zubrowka, fresh pumpkin, maple sugar and lemon juice served out of carved out pumpkin. Admission is free and a cup of Spiced Pumpkin Punch will run you $7.
Down the street at The Daily, the special daily cocktail menu will feature a line-up of spooky creations including: The Devil’s Own: Bottled for 2 cocktail with gin, Combier, dry vermouth and bitters. Death In The Afternoon: an aperitif of absinthe and sparkling wine. Widow’s Kiss: served over a rock with Applejack, Benedictine, Chartreuse, Oogie Boogie: sparkly goodness with vodka, creme de cassis, lemon and sparkling wine or Smoking Bishop: The Daily’s house made version of mulled wine, served warm.
