Eating in Nashville is music to my ears.. maybe that’s why they call it Music City! Anyway, how else would you start the night with a title like that unless it involved some jams while getting ready with your girls. On that note, I poured us some Chilean Red Wine and turned up Big Sean and Drake! Yup, ready to go. Sticking to the black and white trend, a selfie and we’re on our way! (And don’t hate on the selfies).
In a city known for adventurous restaurants, a place called Urban Grub pretty much takes the cake. Starting with the valet parking and gorgeous drivers, we knew we arrived. Before offering my keys, I glanced across the street and noticed an amazing boutique called Imogene and Willie.. mental note to stop in there tomorrow.
Ok, back to dinner! We sat down and the server was amazing at suggesting cocktails from the libation station and eats from the kitchen, which made me wonder if he can read minds.
The restaurant was full of young trendy and chic professionals enjoying their night and toasting with champagne cocktails and draft beer. In a city known for consistency, this one WOW’ed me and my taste buds from the moment the specialty cocktails and gluten free biscuits hit the table. This succulent spot had us on the edge of our seats anxiously awaiting each item.
Being rated as one of the top spots in Nashville for the best appetizers, we were sold on ordering a slew of starters to curve our cravings. Each dish was full of traditional Southern cuisine with a flavored tweak (not to be mistaken with twerk), although we might have done a little dance after tasting dishes from the Roasted Edamame to the Lobster BLT Flatbread. No judging please.
I mean look at the Spicy Grilled Shrimp and Biscuit. Just look at that! The perfect combination of sweet and savory with the Pineapple Pot De Creme and Peach Bourbon Butter. Just enough to make us drunk with love over this dish.
This hot spot is definitely a go to in Nashville’s trendy 12th South District.
